Going to SXSW (South by South West) for the first time in Austin, Texas was an adventure. I wore a special outfit designed and built by Lee Armstrong, an architect. I painted some fine linen with black fabric ink and she took the fabric and magically turned it into this amazing outfit. The box I covered with the same fabric and so I was a walking art work. In the box I had seed vases, my Manifesto, collages by Valerie Fanarjian and 7 Gaping Void original business cards. It was wild. I walked around the convention center, sold a half dozen vases, 2 collages, several manifestos. Some people were in total agreement about my premise, which is art is everywhere and society is a sculpture. Some people ignored me. Others laughed, with me I hope. All and all, I felt stretched, in a good way.
